LinuxFoundationX: LFS101x Introduction to Linux. $4200 worth course for free @edX

All the Linux enthusiast here is a good news, edX has introduced a course titled “INTRODUCTION TO LINUX“.”Register to the edx site and choose the course to begin your Linux passion” This course is taught by the Linux Foundation previously. It cost us $4200 which is not affordable to everyone. But this time edX in collaboration with the Linux Foundation has introduced this course where  course instructor JERRY COOPERSTEINphd Training Program Director 

The Linux Foundation will be instructing the course.


Learning at edX is an easy way to promote your skills. Here the same syllabus will be taught in an interactive way with many reference materials such as, audio, video examples, guest lecture, lab work and community support as well. This will be sufficient to get more information about what topic you are learning

Linux Foundation

The Linux Foundation is a non-profit consortium dedicated to fostering the growth of Linux. Founded in 2007, The Linux Foundation sponsors the work of Linux creator Linus Torvalds and is supported by leading Linux and open source companies and developers from around the world. “Introduction to Linux” is taught by this foundation years before for fostering the skills of student, and linux enthusiasts to motivate them in using linux  and its distributions.

Since this course is entirely self-paced, we include many questions, activities, and labs to help you practice the skills as you are acquiring them.

In order to pass the course, all that is required is that you pass the final exam, available at the end, which consists of 30 questions. The passing score is 70%.

You will have a maximum of 2 attempts to answer each question on the exam. It is an open book exam (meaning that you are free to reference your notes, screens from the course, etc), and there’s no time limit on how long you can spend on a question or on the entire exam. You can always skip a question and come back to it later.

It is an opportunity to get knowledge about Linux. Taking this course you can learn how the linux architecture is comprised and how your hardware as well software is linked through the Linux Kernel.
